From The Verge, words I never thought I’d read or write:
please don’t fly a drone while wearing a virtual reality headset and sitting on the edge of a cliff

It’s simple, people: you could fall very easily

I love Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee series. The latest episode has Lorne Michaels, long time producer of Saturday Night Live (assuming that explanation was superfluous). Given that Lorne isn’t a comedian, it may not be the funniest episode, but it has great quotes:
…his grandfather came to America, and was told the streets were paved with gold. And when he got to America he found out three things:
1) The streets are not paved with gold
2) The streets are not paved
3) He’s gonna be the guy paving them
And I think anything you start, you’re in that position
And a classic from a total New Yorker:
There’s a thing that happens when you grow up in a city like Toronto. People are always saying things like, “I think the Italian food here is as good as any restaurant in New York”. And I say, “You know where they don’t say that?… (Jerry laughs) is in New York”
Just watch it. A great car and cameos from Jimmy Fallon and Julia Louis-Dreyfus…
Only in Wisconsin.
Police in Oak Creek are searching for 20,000 pounds of stolen cheese
Vince Christian, of Wisconsin Cheese Mart, said cheese theft is considered a growing problem in his industry
“The cheese pirates are back at it again,” Christian joked. “It’s kind of crazy that cheese is now so valuable people are going off with entire trucks of it.”
Tony Hawk is almost as old as me. 17 years ago he was the first skateboarder ever to perform a 900 (two and a half full revolutions) in competition.
At 48 he decided to do it one more time.
In Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee series, the episode with Chris Rock, he says something like:
To learn to do a skateboard trick, how many times do you have to get something wrong first, until you get it right? And you hurt yourself and if you learn to do that trick, now you got a life lesson. Whenever I see those skateboard kids, I think, those kids will be all right.
Watch a 48 year old try to do the trick one more time:
Here’s him doing it the first time. Wasn’t easy then either…
Calvin and Hobbes strips altered by putting Trump’s head in place of the 6 year old Calvin.
Hardly changes the strip…

The Row for Hemophilia team got off to a slow start with some nasty weather. They were basically told to batten down the hatches and ride it out. But the weather has turned and they are back on the move.
Supposedly they are going to be getting a new tracking system (wasn’t explained to me how) since the currently system seems to be updating very infrequently.
With improved weather, they are hoping to get into a groove. Looking at the other boats in the official Great Pacific Race (2 of which have already retired) it’s hard to imagine the row taking less than 70 days. Crazy.
